Experience Travel Tours (ETT) was established in 1999. We specialize in issue-based study tours of the region known for centuries as The Holy Land ‒ cherished by Jews, Christians and Muslims alike. In addition to well-known destinations, our itineraries include other historic and beautiful places that may be difficult for individuals to access due to the present conflicts.
We travel through several different geographical areas including the Mediterranean shores, the Jordan Valley, Judean Desert, and the mountains and plains. Some tours go as far south as the Negev Desert and others as far north as the Galilee, depending upon the overall focus of the tour.
Our tours create unique opportunities to meet with key leaders from outstanding organisations and institutions who work in a variety of ways for a better world. Aspects of history, religion, culture, education, politics, healthcare, and the environment are covered, since these are issues that affect people’s lives today. A broad range of perspectives is gained, with the focus on the agencies of peace in both societies. Knowledgeable and in-depth analysis helps participants understand the historical and political dynamics involved, with emphasis on freedom and dignity for all.
Tours are scheduled in spring, summer and autumn and are between seven and eleven days in duration. Groups are kept small, with around 15–18 participants, to enable meaningful interaction with the people and organisations we meet. Travel is by our own private comfortable coach with an expert local driver from a licensed bus company.
All interested parties should be physically fit with the stamina to cope with a full daily programme. An application form must be completed and a reference is required. Once a place on the tour is confirmed, participants are provided with guidance to help prepare them for their ETT tour experience so that they get the most from this unique opportunity. Practical details concerning travel, currency, weather, dress, etc., are always provided, as is follow-up information.
Participants have the opportunity to fly from the destination of their choice and may wish to arrange for an extended stay, visiting additional places of interest. It is the responsibility of all participants to arrive in Jerusalem at the designated time for the start of the study tour and advice is given for this arrangement.
The cost per person includes the full tour programme staying at good three-star hotels at half-board (bed, breakfast and evening meal), sharing a twin-bedded room with ensuite facilities, guidance from the tour leader, other day-guides, and tips. Flights, lunches and travel insurance (contact ETT for advice) are not included. A supplement for single room hotel accommodation is offered. Passports must be valid for a further six months after the return date. Visas are not required for citizens/passport-holders from the EU, North America, Australia and New Zealand but people of other nationalities should check with ETT. There is no need for special inoculations.
No amount of reading, attending lectures or watching films equates with witnessing the reality of life today in “The Holy Land”.
